Sending our Thoughts and Prayers to the Phillipines

On behalf of WUSC Regina, we would like to send our thoughts and prayers to those affected by the Typhoon in the Philippines.

By now, you’ve likely heard about the devastation in the Philippines caused by Typhoon Haiyan. It has been estimated that this superstorm has taken the lives of upwards of 10,000 people, and affected more than 9.5 million in the region including the displacement of more than 600,000 people.

In the aftermath of this devastating storm, the Canadian Government announced that it will match donations from individual Canadians dollar for dollar until December 8th in order to assist with the relief and rehabilitation work needed in the Philippines. The Saskatchewan Government has also contributed $250,000 to the Red Cross for relief efforts.

If you would like to donate to the relief efforts and long term community development work please visit:
